THE KVB is the audio/visual project of Klaus von Barrel & Kat Day, based in London. Combining shoegaze guitars, minimal synth melodies, hypnotic drum machine beats and reverb drenched vocals with abstract imagery, The KVB was initially started as a solo project by Klaus in 2010. After frequent collaborations through the year, Kat joined The KVB permanently on synths and visuals in late 2011. THE BLUE ANGEL LOUNGE formed in 2006, led by singer Nils »O.« Ottensmeyer and Dennis Melster. They took their name from the club in New York City that in the 1960’s offered Nico (Velvet Underground) her first live performances in America. Nico would remain an underlying influence on the band. Initially a 6 piece darkly psychedelic outfit, with their second LP »Narcotica« (8MM Musik, 2010), they began subtly introducing post-punk elements to their melodic songwriting, and the intensity of Nils O’s vocal began to come to the forefront. Anton Newcombe (founder of The Brian Jonestown Massacre), a fan of the band, assisted with production of »Narcotica«, and in 2012 The Blue Angel Lounge supported The Brian Jonestown Massacre on a 10 show tour of the United States, earning rave reviews. As their popularity continues to grow, so does the anticipation for their third LP, set for release later in 2013. Elisabeth Hannah Neid (NL) (also known as Elisa Beenakker), Bachelor of Fashion Technology, based in Berlin, was a copywriter at GREY Amsterdam, United State of Fans\TBWA and Mindpirates. Anastasia Andrieu (FR) lived in Finland, France, Russia, UK and based in Berlin, is soon to be graduate at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London and Universität der Künste, Berlin. Both drawing from the time they stepped out of the cradle, and inspired by sexual magic, the occult and punk music, their psychedelic styles intertwine perfectly on canvas. For this special »REFRAKTION« occasion, alike energies collab, allying psyche art with the most fitting legendary venue, Berghain.
