Mary Ocher & Yr Government

Catch the exclusive Mary Ocher + Your Government Berlin show at Berghain Kantine on June 14, which marks the European release date of the new record Your Guide to Revolution (available on 180 gram vinyl / digital). It is Mary's first appearance with her drummers (Your Government) in Berlin since 2019.

Your Guide to Revolution is Ochers 7th album and a sibling to last year’s thought provoking Approaching Singularity: Music for The End of Time, which was released last year together with an essay that explores authoritarianism, unruly technology, and the diverse political and ethical implications of the impending changes for humankind. Ocher's unique perspective as an artist can be traced to her background. Born in Moscow to Jewish-Ukrainian parents, Ocher and her family emigrated to Tel Aviv during the Gulf War. There she grew up absorbing xenophobia and nationalism, which subsequently left a distinct mark on her creative output: questioning authority, capitalism, religion, and the myth of nationhood. Last year she released a Ukraine charity EP and curated a compilation for girls' education in Afghanistan.
