Venezuelan DJ Leeon, based in Bogotá, is one of the key figures in the Colombian house and techno scene. Besides DJing, he helped established the local Video Club, was part of the Ediciones Danza Negra label collective, and has booked none other than Panorama residents Tama Sumo and Lakuti for the first edition of his new queer party series, Ritmo Caliente. Leeon not only plays bass-heavy, psychedelic techno but, as proven in his Phonica podcast, can also drop fabulous deep house sets. House, acid and noisy techno with melancholic undertones are the musical coordinates of Johannes Paluka, who since releasing his 2008 debut EP on Mirau has continued to putting out excellent music on labels such as Smallville, Acid Test and Frank Music – whether alone under his alias Iron Curtis, as part of the duo Achterbahn D'Amour or in collaboration with Johannes Albert on their album trilogy Moon.
