Born in London, Gallegos began his musical career playing the trumpet and drums before turning to DJing and the drum 'n' bass scene in Bristol. He helped shape the local scene as co-founder of club night SHAPES and released house tracks influenced by euphoric 90s rave on labels such as Banoffee Pies, Permanent Vacation and his own imprint Room Service. British producer Jimmy Wallace worked on music in his basement studio for years before releasing tracks on labels such as Studio Barnhus, Disco Halal and Phantasy Sound two years ago, encouraged by DJs such as Gilles Peterson and Optimo, leading up to the release of his debut album on Mule Musiq in late 2023: Red, Yellow, Black combines his edgy house tunes with an emotional story arc – a quality that's typical of his DJ sets as well.
