Hoferlanz II so heißt das neue Album von LANZ aka The National, Beirut & Sufjan Stevens Musiker Benjamin Lanz. Obwohl das Soloalbum (VÖ April 2018 via Brassland) größtenteils während Tourneen mit oben genannten Bands geschrieben wurde, klingt es doch komplett anders: „While I admire the force and freedom of artistic recluses, I’m an outward-looking guy by nature – so I just end up writing some really weird hooks!” Die erste Single des Albums Auckland entstand, während er mit The National in eben dieser Stadt auf einem Festival spielte - fette Sounds treffen auf Texte, inspiriert von der Landschaft und Energie Aucklands. Zurück in Brooklyn wurde der Song dann mit Bass und Drums komplementiert. “As a listener, I admire and enjoy the farthest reaches of experimental and progressive music. But for the last decade or so I’ve made a living playing with some of today’s most canonical indie artists. Yet when putting my own ideas to tape, I find myself writing eccentric alternative rock songs.” Dandy Deniz ist das Solo Projekt des in Berlin lebenden Musikers Deniz Winter (Martha Rose, JFR Moon, Winter & Winter).
