Painter and DJ/producer Richie Culver is no stranger to the contemporary art world, but as Quiet Husband he returns to his roots: the rough industrial landscapes of the British city of Hull and its early 00s rave culture. In his productions on labels such as Industrial Coast and Potnia Theron, he focuses on rhythmic endurance and sonic density. His Lands EP, released this month, features wind-swept loops at 180 bpm, abstract experimental tracks and a physical low-end pressure that evokes a frosty, ritualized atmosphere. Quiet Husband will be playing alongside DJ Nobu, MARRØN and Oscar Molero at Berghain tonight. In stark contrast is Seoul-based Cosmo: Hyojin Min has been shaping South Korean nightlife since 2017 and has been a resident at Beton Brut+Concrete Bar since 2021, working at the intersection of psychedelic disco, minimal acid and the meandering techno of the noughties. With her atmospheric textures and subtle tension arcs, she fits perfectly among the Giegling collective, with whom she plays regularly.
