For tonight's edition of their party Your Love, Lakuti and Tama Sumo are bringing along two artists who have been making club music history since early on. Li'l Louis grew up in Chicago and scored his first DJ gig at the age of 12, continuing through his teens playing soul and disco in his hometown clubs, before finding worldwide success in the late 80s with “French Kiss”. Outrageously raunchy and effective to this day, the house number set itself apart from the bulk of house and techno records of its day with a bold, mid-track slowdown and lusty moans from Chaka Khan backing vocalist Shawn Christopher. In 1992, after further underground hits like “Blackout” and “I Call You”, he released his second, wonderful, high-end, major-label soul album, Journey With The Lonely, largely ending his producing career thereafter. Maurice Fulton already made his mark on house music back when he co-produced Crystal Water's “Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)”, further proving himself over the years through today by releasing some of the most idiosyncratic and extravagant tracks under countless pseudonyms and projects.
