Klubnacht

Apt as usual, Hard Wax described one of Belgian producer Phara's releases as “highly effective, anthemic big room techno pounders”. The resident DJ at Fuse in Brussels has been producing captivating, energetic tracks since 2016, which he is now presenting live at Säule for this weekend's Klubnacht after his first Berghain gig last May. DJ/producer Thibaud Guillemin aka Perfo hails from the south of France where he grew up in a family of jazz musicians, trained to listen attentively from an early age. Now living in Berlin, he considers the jazz-influenced nuances in his music less as a specific musical quote than as a production philosophy. He tries to take an improvisational approach to his pieces, usually recorded in one take, maintaining an organic aspect among any later editing in order to keep the spontaneous, non-mechanical moments. His debut album Grand Final was released on MORD last summer, and tonight he plays Berghain for the second time. Chez Damier, who played a key role in shaping the golden era of American house music history as a DJ, producer and label owner, is always a welcome guest at Panorama Bar.
